Supported by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, The Waiakea Lions Club held a work day at the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island’s Hilo Club. Bill Lyman, Paul Sebala and the rest of the Waiakea Lions Club, community volunteers, members of the UH Softball team and BGCBI staff, about 50 volunteers helped with patching, painting and electrical repairs in the teen center, clearing out the gardens, washing windows, adding shelves and hooks for backpacks, cleaning and moving items from the gym and fixing drywall and windows in the administrative building.

On Jan. 28, the Waiakea Lions Club selected Boys & Girls Club of the Big Island as the recipient of their Weinberg Project.
